Error: Field 'styles' doesn't have a default value

I have installed JC Tables on Joomla 5. When I try to create a new table or update one of the demo tables, I get the following error message:
Field 'styles' doesn't have a default value
The new table or updates are not stored. Where is this error coming from? On the configuration form I don't see a field 'styles'.

Unfortunately JCTables does not support Joomla5 yet, we have just recently released JCTables a while back for Joomla4.
We are in progress with the Joomla5 update, but do not have a fixed timeline yet as to when it will be available. As soon as it is, we will post a notification.

Also in Joomla 4 I get the same error when I try to save a new JCTable.
I have now tested this on Joomla 4.4.8, running with PHP 8.2.18.

Hi Paul,

Just to inform you: I have been able to solve the error. On the table #__jctables I have set the Default Value for the column 'styles' to '' (empty string). After that change I was able to store my new table definition and apply all required changes.
This workaround also works fine in Joomla 5.
So, for me this issue is now solved.

Yes, we found Joomla4 and 5 dont seem to accept null values as default values,and this has been changed.

Once we finished our testing and uploaded the latest fix, we will send you a complimentary pro version just to say thanks for picking this up
